Captain information

Each area captain has 6 or more volunteers who have offered their services from basic shopping, dog walking, collecting prescriptions, delivering post, and even emergency maintenance. Their role is to coordinate requests from residents. They are the communication link between residents and volunteers. Once a request is received, area captains will then contact one of their volunteers to fulfil the request.

 

Things may evolve to the point where, for example,  we consolidate requests for shopping, so one volunteer may shop for a number of residents in order to reduce the footfall in the supermarkets and food shops.

 

It is important that all area captains double check with their central coordinator before taking on tasks they are not sure about.  

 

If any area captain becomes overwhelmed, they should contact their central coordinator who will help to distribute the request load. We are all here to take care of each other!
